I don't do facebook but my Son said it was in Nyssa, I guess that is close to the Oregon border. The farmer can't get anyone to pick it for him, so instead of letting it go to waste, he is giving it away, up to 100 pounds per person.

 Opps, forgot to move this post. From what my Son said, your comments are exactly right Don. The farmer raising the asparagus could not find anyone to pick it and before it went to waste he decided to just give it away.
