31 air temp at 8am launch, but warm & snug in our ice fishing togs and, with no major wind until noon, not as cool as last week. Plus, we did as well as the last two times there. 6 other boats, most of 'em fishing for bass, and a bunch of shore anglers, so didn't get to fish our best spots. But we found some new ones off the dam in the NE corner. Unfamiliar with that area, but got the grand slam again --- trout, bass up to 17", 10-11" perch and 1 crappie. Figured Echo's dam would be somewhat stair-steppy, like most others, so sort of shocked to fish bottom undulations from 5' to 35' and everything in between not that far apart. Lots of snags in that corner, but had some great action until about 11am. Got our better smallies in 10' and under. Hardly a bite on E side and along boulders on W side. Got off at 12:30 to 55-deg water and 64 air. Might return next weekend if the planets are aligned.
