Echo on Glass..10-22
#1
Been a while since I had anything to report..duck hunting, finishing up the garden, etc...I've wanted to get out to Echo for the usually good Fall Rainbow chase, and made it today with a buddy and his grandson...we did pretty good, starting about 0900, slow at 1100, then sporadic 'til we pulled out early afternoon...no large fish (18 to 20") but nicer ones kept were 16 to 17"ers...with plenty down to 12" released...water definitely way down..you spend a lot of time backing down that ramp before hitting water!..water clarity not bad today..my buddy said it was a lot worse a few days ago..sunny, no wind, surface water just like glass...great day to be out on the water..we were trolling pretty slow, 1.5..but that still seemed to work just fine..Guluk...

That's a good outing and report. That's the size we found and close to the speed we trolled as well. Thanks for the report.

What were you using, and what was the water temp?

When I was there Tuesday the temp was 54 degrees. The water clarity was terrible. When I would drop a jig in it would disappear before reaching 2 ft. I didn't stay long I was having problems with my trolling motor. When I got home, I took the propeller off and found monofilament line wrapped around the shaft. Since I've owned the motor, I've never had the line that I was fishing with get caught in the motor. It had to have been line that someone had thrown overboard.

Pretty typical trolling gear..my side, two poles, each with home made silver spin trolls, one chartreus assasin lure, other with pink/sparkle squid..little garlic juice..my buddy's side, both poles with white or pink squids, but he likes copper colored dodgers..at 6 to 8 ft. down, few hook ups..1 to 3 ft. down is where our action was..pink or green grubs....best for me was chartreuse..
