About a month ago we had temps drop so low that a couple of the northern lakes had small sheets of ice floating around. They didn't last long. Now that autumn is officially here, summer decided to show up.

On average around central Minnesota , the ice starts forming around the middle of Nov , but I was fishing on 6 inches of ice on Nov 6th a few years back !! But I've seen it go into the middle of December before , that makes it a quick season ! The one thing we have up here is that , our ice fishing can go into April !!

Sounds great! I'll definitely be fishing the contest they have on Long Lake. That was my first ever experience with ice fishing. Maybe I can bring a buddy along so I won't be talkin' to myself the entire time.
