Why do I Buy Lures?

I mainly fish small rivers and streams and the only time I have success it's with live bait.

I do Ok fishing for Trout and Smallmouth but usually with a hook or jig tipped with a worm or minnow, and I've never had much luck with Largemouth. I try different plugs and spinners with no results. I often wonder if this is because of technique. It's just a bit frustrating when I see someone pull a lunker from somewhere I've just left.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

For bass, pick up some 5" stick bait [worms] from wavefishing or from your local bait shop and fish them weightless. Watermelon color or black if water is stained. You'll hook up. Visit the Bass board for some tips.
