I just got my 9 year old a pole for Easter and we want to go somewhere close camping/fishing this weekend. Burraston is really the closest to us that has a campground.
I have been a very inactive fisherman since I got married and left home. What is the best bait to use at Burraston? Has anyone been down there yet this year??

Hey welcome to the forum!! I'm not very familiar with anything about Burraston Pond but it's hard to beat night crawlers for a universal bait. I'm sure other members that have fished there will chime in and help out. Good luck hope you and your son have a great time. Later J

For some reason they have changed Burriston to day use only. No camping is allowed now.

Really? I thought you just couldn't fish or swim at night?

You could also try Spanish Oaks reservoir. They keep it stocked and there is a campground.

All the recent reports I've heard about Yuba imply it's not too good right now, thought the pike may be spawning soon

Thanks for the input guys. It looks like its going to be a chilly night Thursday, so I think I might simulate a camp trip and have a campfire in my backyard roast some marshmallows, then go down and try out either Burraston or Spring Lake Friday morning.

We did real good at burrstons last week. Garlic powerbait or worms tipped with garlic marshmallows.
