		They are big irregular shaped scales. David's was fully scaled and not a common catch for a mirror carp. (no punintended 
 )Mine was more like it, with missing scales.  
  
I also learned that if you catch one with NO SCALES
(which is the MOST UNCOMMON)
it is called a leather carp!
