The boycott idea can work, but everybody looks at it the wrong way, not buying or using gas for one day isnt going to get beans done, the tycoons will just roll their eyes. However if a good share of americans were to boycott exxonmobile and its subsidaries all the while still buying gas and fuels but from competitors exxonmobile would do something drastic and swift to neutralize and offset the losses, they would be the ones who would lead the charge for lower forege oil costs.
And on the refineries idea im not so sure, everybody is in it for money, it takes money to build a refinery, and if you can produce fuel adn sell that fule for the same as everybody else why would you sell it for less? Take this for example, crisin refinery in woods cross closed a few years back, it didnt create a fuel shortage, and it has sence been opened back up as the silver eagle refinery, but as we all can see fuel prices throughout the state didnt drop even with more fuel avalble.
