Gas prices irritate me as much as they do anyone else. I can remember going to a service station {those are gone also} and getting a buck or two in gas, and they pumped it for you. I can't remember for sure but I think it was around .35 a gallon. Not too many years ago when I was still married we built a street rod. It was made to drive, not trailer. I was running just under 600 hp thru a 350 motor and made lots of trips 100 to 200 miles away. I got anywhere from 8 to 2 miles to the gallon depending if I was cruizing or wheel standing. It cost us a ton in gas. But its what we wanted. No one says you have to go anywhere. We just need to tighten our strings on the stuff we really don't need to do to do the things we want. No-one made us buy what were driving, just one of the toys we "had" to have.
