spinning reel versus casting reel

If you do end up getting the casting reel. I have been told a little trick from an old timer wich is amazing for getting out bird nest. I think it will only work with mono. take as much of the nest out as you can ,tighten down on the drag a bit then hold your line and crank down on the reel and bury the knot, after that hand mend your line out and see if you got it I was blown away. It has work for me several times. and don't cast into the wind until you get the hang of it.
