Sounds like we basically have the same stuff and techniques, the only difference may be I had a couple of rookies with me yesterday ( I was hoping they would bring some beginners luck with them). I love those mud bugs for perch, I think having the horizontal hook increases your chance of getting a good hook set. And I am sold on having a flasher, this is my first year ice fishing with one and I will never be able to ice fish without one. It has increased my catch rate considerable. I might need to work on my jigging technique, I had fish on the flasher looking at my jig constantly but couldn't get them to bite. Do you use any kind of scent? I usually put some on a few of my jigs, I haven't noticed any difference with or without.
