I wanna jump in here with my .02. I bleed my cats. But I'm in a boat and have extra room for a bloody cooler full of fish. I bleed them for one reason. To make them real dead when I get home to fillet them. I don't like all the blood and the flopping around while I cut em up. Bled out, they are dead and I can hose out the cooler and wash the fish very easily. Catfish are the only fish I do this with. Walleye can be killed by snapping their spine. Hate floppy spiney fish.
