That pole is made for small fish. A good bass will snap that baby. I don't cat fish, maybe they other guys can ring in, but I assume it would be better to get a 6'6" or 7' med action or med/ heavy for those cats. Thats what I use for bass. I use 8-10lb braid for most of my bass rods. Thats just me. [
