ice fishing at the berry
#3
Mud Creek is one of the first accessible areas to freeze up. It is usually good first ice, and is fishable before the whole lake is capped.

I fish with a lot of the things mentioned. A lot of what to use has to do with what you have confidence in and what you like to fish.

Berkley power nymphs work good in white and chartruse. So do lots of different ice flies and small tube body jigs. I have never fished powerbait, but I have seen people cleaning up on rainbows last year in Soldier Creek with it.

In my opinion, if you aren't catching fish, move around till you find some.

As it gets closer, if you want to meet up with people to kind of learn some different tactics, this forum is a good place to solicit an invite from forum members. We all started ourselves at one time.
