[#0000FF]You and I must have gone to different schools together. I am the same way when I watch TV...always looking to catch the unintentional blunders...and there are plenty. My long suffering spouse just rolls her eyes. But I get more enjoys out of finding what's wrong with some programs than the content on the screen. And I cain't abide any program with a laugh track. Another issue.
Those aforementioned commercials are bad enough. But what about all of the stupid fishing programs in which the host is supposed to know something beyond the basics. Can't remember the number of spastic fly casting demos I have watched...or the guy with a spinning rod that holds on to the end of the rod and extends his arm at the end of the cast to increase casting distance. I have even watched a guy who should know better reeling with the spinning reel on top of the rod and reeling backwards.
All time worst...for this float tuber...is watching fishing show hosts try to show people how to fish from a tube. The funniest part is watching them launch an underinflated craft...and/or walking forward for several yards to the water while wearing their fins. Quack quack. Easy to spot someone trying to pretend knowledge of something they know nothing about.
I really chortle and guffaw at the cartoonists' efforts to draw fishing tackle or guns in newspaper cartoons. Again, very evident they have never fished...or even held a fishing rod in their hands.
