I too have heard that there are Crappie in East Canyon, but not in Echo.
Have never tried to target them, but I am guessing they will be closer toward the dam. Look for topography where a ledge is likely to be close to a large drop off of 10 feet or more. The crappie would suspend just off the ledge in the winter.
