Marcum LX-5 Flasher

Does anyone own this unit? If so, how does the charging system work? Do you need extra batteries and are the batteries the same as those used on the Vexilar?

I have owned Vex's, Lowrance ice units and currently run a LX5. Best unit out there. You have a charger that comes with the unit. Leave the battery gauge permanently attached and just clip in the charger when you need to recharge. Batteries are the same as Vexilars. I charge my unit about every second trip. The LX5 will run all day and then some off a full charge. Just remember to disconnect the battery gauge if you aren't using the LX5 for a few months as it will draw down the battery.
