a week ago I was able to get on a small stream my daughters house in TN.. my son - in - law (MacLarry) and I spent about 6 hours fishing up and down the water.. we both lost count after about 25 or so fish..
the predominant fish was bluegill with a few smal lmb in between.. sizes of the gills ranged from about an inch or so to the ones I have posted ..
highlight of the day was when MacLarry caught a decent sized bass (about 10" long or so and just at a pound or a little less).. sorry did not get a picture of the bass....
the last picture is of some water bug that neither of us could identify and hoped that you one of you saaavvvyyy fly flingers could identify.. [laugh]

forgot to add before.. flies of choice were sz 12/14 wooly worms, a red chrom that FG sent me a while back, sz 14/16 red/black ants, and for the LMB that MacLarry caught a hopper pattern that was again courtesy of my sis FG...

Now those are some pretty looking fish. That insect is a helgramite. [/#008000]
Hellgrammites are quite common back east.I was about six years old when I first encountered one of those dudes. Pick him up to get a closer look and the sucker gave me a nip. Did you notice their little claws? [/#008000]
